Goffs graduate Excelebration slams rivals in Gr2 Hungerford Stakes
13/08/2011
November Foal Sale graduate Excelebration slammed a top class field in the Group 2 CGA Hungerford Stakes at Newbury today.
Easy winner of the German 2000 Guineas in May and twice placed against Frankel this season, most recently in the Group 1 St James Palace at Royal Ascot, the Marco Botti trained son of Exceed And Excel duly justified 5/4 favouritism today, travelling strongly under Adam Kirby and storming to a six length victory.
Excelebration was purchased by his trainer for just £20,000 at the DBS Premier Yearling Sales 2009 sold by Owenstown Stud, and went to John Walsh Bloodstock a year previously for €15,000 at Goffs November Foal Sale.
