Bring Out Your Best At Goffs Orby
16/06/2012

Final entries are now closing for the Orby and Sportman’s yearling sales. Vendors are asked to return entry forms to Goffs.

The new format Orby Sale on 3 – 4 October will provide a concise catalogue of the very best Irish yearlings just two days before the Arc.

Goffs Orby had more unique buyers in 2011 than any other yearling sale and the strategic moving of Ireland’s premier yearling sale closer to the biggest weekend in European racing has seen a high calibre selection of horses nominated to the sale and the Goffs team report an exciting yearling crop from their visits to the numerous top class farms across Ireland.

Goffs have proven time and again that the top prices are achieved for the best horses.  Recent examples include Banimpire (€2,300,000) and Europe’s 3 highest priced foals of 2011 combined with the fact that the Orby Sale regularly sells Europe’s highest priced yearlings.  However for many breeders it is not just the attraction of Goffs achieving the highest prices but also the fact that the strength in the 2011 Orby middle market improved with more €150,000 plus yearlings than the previous year.

As predicted, the return of the Goffs Sportsman’s Sale as a standalone catalogue, has proved popular with Goffs vendors and purchasers. This sale (as day 3 of the Orby catalogue) provided the highest average for any sale in Ireland last year outside the Orby and is a sale that buyers return to year after year because of the success they have from graduates. The Sportsman Sale looks to build on last year’s impressive average and become the sale of choice.
