Big Zeb takes his Grade 1 tally to seven

Big Zeb won his seventh Grade 1 contest at Leopardstown when successfully defending his title in the Grade 1 Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase. The ten year old son of Oscar had twice won this race in the past, as well as the Grade 1 Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2010 and this latest victory took his career earnings to over £750,000.

He is now a general 5-1 chance for the Grade 1 Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival 2012 and winning trainer Colm Murphy said after the race:

‘I'm thrilled to bits. He looks better than ever this season and deserves another shot at the Queen Mother Champion Chase. He'll probably run next in the Tied Cottage Chase at Punchestown.’

Big Zeb was sold by Whitehorse Stud to Pat Redmond for €34,000 at the Goffs Land Rover Sale 2004.
