Bobby O’Byrne joins Goffs yearling inspection team

Goffs is pleased to announce the addition of Bobby O’Byrne to the Orby Sale yearling inspection team.

Bobby O’Byrne runs Lodge Stud, Kilmacthomas, Co Waterford with his brothers Timmy and Jondi, specialising in breaking and pre-training for Flat and National Hunt.  He has worked with horses all his life and has been involved with breeding stock, foaling, sales prep and breaking.  He spent four years working with Coolmore in both America and Ireland.

The yearling inspection team is made up of Henry Beeby, Nick Nugent, Gerry Hogan and renowned agent Hamish Alexander.

Clive Gardner meanwhile will renew his 30 year association with Goffs this year as he returns to the auctioneering panel having missed 2010 due to clash of sales dates.

Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby commented:

We are delighted to welcome Bobby O’Byrne to the inspection panel.  I am confident that his experience and enthusiasm will further strengthen the team as we work with Irish breeders to provide the strongest possible catalogue for this year’s Orby Sale.

The best advertisement for any sale and for inspectors is the success of the horses on the racetrack and Goffs has sold the winners of 36 Group 1 races in the past three seasons.

All the big buyers are at Goffs and want to buy at Goffs, and we had our broadest yearling buyer base yet in 2010.  We are committed to providing these buyers with the very best Irish bloodstock, and we have proven that the best horses achieve the best prices at Goffs.

Clive Gardner works to the highest standards and is, quite simply, one of the best there is.  I am delighted to welcome him back for 2011 which further underlines Goffs commitment to work to the highest standards”.
