The class of 2012: Great week for Goffs Kempton graduates

The sale is billed as an excellent source of juveniles that are ready to run and ready to win, and Goffs Ready To Run Sale at Kempton is certainly living up to this with many of the 2012 graduates already winners, including four in the past six days.

Sale topper Ahern () was most impressive winning on his debut for David Barron and owners Qatar Racing Ltd last weekend beating 4 previous winners.  The son of Dutch Art was sold by Oak Tree Farm to David Redvers for £80,000.  There was a double on Thursday with Mandy Layla () scoring at Hamilton for Bryan Smart and , while the progressive looking Reliant Robin () won at Lingfield for Robert Mills having been consigned from Gaybrook Lodge Stud. On Wednesday Jubilee Brig () was successful at Kempton for trainer Gary Moore, who purchased the colt for £40,000 from Oaks Farm Stables.

Mandy Layla was bought by Favourites Racing for £30,000 and consigned by Brown Island Stables who sold Norfolk Stakes winner Bapak Chinta at the 2011 Kempton Sale.  Bapak Chinta’s trainer Kevin Ryan has already enjoyed success from this year’s Breeze Up with Surely Speightful () who was sold by Grove Stud to Stephen Hillen for £30,000.

Hopefully connections of many of these recent winners will enjoy a trip to Royal Ascot and bid to emulate the previous Kempton success stories at the meeting.
