Classic Success For Goffs London Sale

Goffs London Sale graduate HARBOUR LAW (pictured) put in the performance of his career on Saturday at Doncaster to win the Group 1 Classic Ladbrokes St Leger.  Coming with a late run the son of Lawman won by ¾ length from Orby graduate Ventura Storm in second, and the Aidan O’Brien trained Housesofparliament in third, to give trainer Laura Mongan and jockey George Baker their first Classic success.

The hugely progressive Harbour Law was sold in the London Sale by Malcolm Bastard to Kiltown Stud for £30,000 in 2015. He is now the winner of three of his six races having previously finished 2nd in the Listed Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot to Sword Fighter and fourth in the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy.

It is significant that the Goffs London Sale has sold a Classic winner having only been in operation for three years and with small catalogues relative to other sales. This win demonstrates the quality on offer at the eve of Royal Ascot Sale that has been topped by two prices of £1.3 million and sold some spectacular breeding stock alongside a variety of classy horses with form.

The Orby Sale was well represented across the board at the weekend with six winning graduates as well as Ventura Storm taking the runner up position in the St Leger. Winners included Just Glamorous, winner of the Group 3 Prix du Petit Couvert in Chantilly. This 3 year old gelding by Arcano was purchased at the Orby Sale by trainer Ron Harris for €55,000 from Yeomanstown Stud.

The Orby Sale takes place on 27th and 28th September and features a selection of stunning colts and beautiful fillies from leading breeders.

Congratulations to all connections.
