Dick Turpin makes it a Group 1 double for Goffs

Dick Turpin recorded a second Group 1 for Goffs this afternoon, following Lightening Pearl’s sensational victory in the Cheveley Park Stakes, when landing the Group 1 Premio Vittorio Di Capua in San Siro, Italy for trainer Richard Hannon.

Dick Turpin recorded a second Group 1 for Goffs this afternoon, following Lightening Pearl’s sensational victory in the Cheveley Park Stakes, when landing the Group 1 Premio Vittorio Di Capua in San Siro, Italy for trainer Richard Hannon.  The prolific four year old was winning his sixth Group race, and second at Group 1 level having landed the Prix Jean Prat at in 2010.

Dick Turpin was sold by Rossenarra Stud to Noel McDonnell for just €12,000 at the 2007 Goffs November Foal Sale. 

Meanwhile there was a further boost for the upcoming Orby Sale when Goffs yearling graduate Prince Of Johanne took the Betfred Cambridgeshire at Newmarket today.  TheTom Tate trained son of Johannesburg powered clear of his rivals two furlongs out and stayed on well to take the valuable handicap by 1 ¾ lengths.  

Prince Of Johanne was sold as a foal at Goffs November Sale by The Castlebridge Consignment to Blandford Bloodstock for €105,000 and sold as a yearling at Goffs byCorduff Stud to Demi O’Byrne for €275,000.

Goffs Orby Sale gets underway this Tuesday 27th September until Thursday 29th and features an outstanding selection of yearlings.
