Commenting on the December National Hunt catalogue, Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

“A leading source of National Hunt success and pinhooking potential, the December National Hunt Sale has enjoyed huge growth in the past two years and vendors have reacted to this success by sending more of their best foals to Goffs.  This is quite simply the best collection we have ever catalogued for the sale, and by keeping to the popular and convenient one day format, buyers can be assured of quality from start to finish.

We are grateful to the ITBA for their ongoing support, their National Hunt Foal Show has undoubtedly played a strong role in encouraging more select foals to Goffs, and we look forward to capping what has been a great year for Goffs National Hunt in the sales ring and on the track with another strong renewal of our select foal sale”.

Open to all foals in the sale, the €8000 ITBA National Hunt Foal Show Championship will feature two classes, one for colts and one for fillies, with €2,500 to the winner, €1,000 to the second and €500 to the third placed foal in each class.

The show judges will assess pedigree and conformation to select the foals that they believe are most likely to make top class racehorses to follow in the footsteps of December graduates such as Grade 1 winners China Rock, Captain Cee Bee, Brindisi Breeze, Imperial Commander, Peddler’s Cross, Pandorama etc.

Vendors wishing to enter their foal in the Championship can register by calling Goffs on 045 886600.
