French 2YO Stakes Winner Ardenode Added To London Sale

The first 2YO Stakes winner of the year in France, Ardenode, is the latest addition to the boutique Goffs London Sale in association with QIPCO which takes place on Monday 19th June.

The two-year-old son of Helvellyn (Lot 21 - pictured) was the impressive winner of the Listed Prix La Fleche at Maison-Lafitte last weekend and holds an entry in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot next Thursday as well as the Group 3 Prix Du Bois and Redcar 2YO Trophy. Trained by Eoghan O’Neill, the smart two-year-old looks the part with the trainer saying:

“It was always a hope that we would have a horse good enough to send to the London Sale, and we are delighted to bringing the first 2yo Stakes winner of the year in France.

This is a horse who I think will suit both Hong Kong and America as well as anyone wishing to keep him in training in Europe”.

Ardenode joins the Jamie Osborne-trained Armum and Joseph Murphy’s Born To Play as wild card entries for the London Sale.  Armum (Lot 19), the two year old half-sister to Group 2 winner Ardad, won at Chester last Saturday and will head to the sale with an entry in the Albany Stakes on Friday of the Royal Meeting.

Born To Play (Lot 20), a three year old son of Born To Sea was last seen in action at the Curragh at the end of May when narrowly beaten by Homesman and goes to Royal Ascot with engagements in both the Hampton Court Stakes and King George V Stakes.

The complete catalogue for Goffs London Sale in association with QIPCO is available online at goffs.com and includes race and conformation footage for all HIT.  Horses In Training are all pre-vetted and will be sold in absentia on Monday.  The Breeding Stock will be present at The Orangery.  All lots are available for inspection in advance of the sale at the yard of their trainer or on the stud farm.
