Go For Goal raced into Guineas contention today with a smart win in the Listed 2000 Guineas Trial Stakes at Leopardstown.
Trained by Dermot Weld, the son of Verglas raced well in the testing conditions and defeated some leading classic hopes in his first victory at stakes level for his owner Glen Devlin. The three-year-old was purchased by Glen Devlin and Bobby O'Ryan from Moyglare Stud Farm at Goffs' Open Sale for €22,000.
