Goffs Grade 1 double at Punchestown with China Rock and Hisaabaat

China Rock and Hisaabaat recorded a Grade 1 double today to top off a spectacular week for Goffs at the Punchestown Festival.

The Mouse Morris trained China Rock triumphed in the Grade 1 Punchestown Gold Cup, his second appearance at the track this week having finished fourth in Tuesday’s Champion Chase.  The nine year old son of Presenting was bred by Brian Griffin and sold as a foal at Goffs December National Hunt Sale by Killeen House to John Dineen for €26,000.

Hisaabaat, a Grade 1 winner at Leopardstown in February prior to finishing runner up in the Triumph Hurdle, took today’s Grade 1 Champion Four Year Old Hurdle for Dermot Weld and Dr Ronan Lambe.  Hisaabaat was sold as a yearling at Goffs by Ballylinch Stud to Shadwell Estate Ltd for €140,000.
