Richard Hannon's Lilbourne Lad recorded more Group success for Goffs when landing the Group 2 Railway Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon, outbattling Tough As Nails inside the final furlong to score a three parts of a length win.
Afterwards Richard Hannon Jnr commented “Lilbourne Lad is a real star and we’re very pleased. The last furlong looked like slow motion but Lilbourne kept pulling out a bit more.”
The Goffs National Stakes or the Prix Morny at Deauville could be on the cards for Lilbourne Lad, who was sold Swordlestown Little to Epona Bloodstock for €75,000 at the 2009 Goffs November Foal Sale.
