Goffs February Sale graduate Obviously scored the biggest success of his career to date on Saturday at Santa Anita when blazing a trail to win the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. Given an expertly timed ride by jockey Flavien Prat, the son of Choisir took the lead in the early stages battling bravely to stay in front all the way to the line for trainer Philip D’Amato and owners Anthony Fanticola & Joseph Scardino.
Obviously began his career in Ireland having been sold at the Goffs February Sale, winning two of his three starts. He went on to race in America where he is now the winner of twelve races, eight of which are Stakes races and include three Grade 1s.
Bred by Miss Deirdre Cogan, Obviously was sold by Woodleigh House Stables to Clare View Farms for €2,000 at the Goffs February Sale in 2009.
