Grade 2 double for Goffs at Ascot and Haydock

At Ascot the David Pipe trained Mamlook, travelling and jumping easily throughout, landed theGrade 2 Victor Chandler Holloway's Hurdle under Hadden Frost. He was subsequently cut to 10/1 for the Totesport Trophy at Newbury on February 13th.

Meanwhile at Haydock the Donald McCain trained Peddlers Cross was quoted at 14/1 for theSupreme Novices Hurdle following victory in the Grade 2 Sportingbet.com Novices Hurdle. Maintaining an unbeaten record, Peddlers Cross made all and overcame a spirited challenge by Scriptwriter two from home to land the two mile event.

Peddlers Cross was bought by Barry Murphy for €10,000 at the 2005 Goffs December National Hunt Sale where he was sold by Cloncahir House Stud, while Mamlook was sold as a yearling at Goffs by Betaghstown Stud to Shadwell Estate Ltd for €110,000.

Goffs February Sale which features a host of top quality Flat and National Hunt yearlings, two year olds, and breeding stock takes place on 9th and 10th February.
