GoffsDBS graduate Maarek landed the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle this afternoon, giving former jump jockey Graham Lee his biggest win to date since switching codes to flat.
The son of Pivotal is a graduate of the DBS April HIT Sales as well the Goffs HIT Sales. Sent off at 11/4, he quickened up well to win by two lengths.
Maarek was sold at the Goffs HIT Sales in 2011 by Kilconnel Stables to EP Harty for €95,000.
