The daughter of Choisir runs in the colours of Mark Gittins and will be aimed at the Group 1 Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh on May 23 but does not hold any entries in the British Classics. Deegan said after the race:
'This was the plan, if she was ready, and now it's onto the Irish Guineas. She's a high-class filly with serious cruising speed. The faster they go the better. She would not want it too soft, but the extra furlong won't be a problem.'
Ridden by Jim Crowley, Lady Springbank, who won the Group 3 CL Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh last year and travelled strongly on the heels of the leaders before she picked up smartly when asked the question to score by over a length.
Crowley was equally enthusiastic about Lady Springback's future and when asked if her next race should be a Group 1, he replied:
'Without a doubt. I was very taken with her and she loved the ground. They went a nice, even gallop and was always confident about the trip as she stays well.'
Lady Springbank was sold by Mogeely Stud to BBA Ireland for £25,000 at the DBS January Sales 2009.
Lady Springbank will now be aimed at the Group 1 Irish 1000 Guineas
