Land Rover graduate Great Endeavour wins Paddy Power Gold Cup

Goffs Land Rover Sale graduate Great Endeavour won the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham this afternoon in impressive style, providing the in form David Pipe with his first victory in the race and owner David Johnson with his seventh.

Ridden by Timmy Murphy, Great Endeavour was sent off at 8/1 for the valuable handicap.  Favourite Wishful Thinking set a strong pace and but weakened coming down the hill while Great Endeavour survived a last fence blunder well to power clear to a seven length victory from Quantitativeeasing in second.  The seven year old who was sold by Mount Browne Stud at the 2007 Land Rover Sale was a Grade 3 Handicap Chase winner at last year's Cheltenham festival and is now quoted at 8/1 for the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury.
 
The December National Hunt Sale on 7 December is the next opportunity to purchase future stars of National Hunt racing at Goffs and graduates of the sale include Imperial Commander, Peddlers Cross, Ballabriggs, Captain Cee Bee and Pandorama amongst many others.  Catalogues online Wednesday 16 November.
