Reflecting on a very strong renewal of the Land Rover Sale, Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

“Goffs Land Rover graduates have consistently punched above their weight for many years with wins at the highest level. Therefore it has been no surprise to welcome a huge crowd to Kildare Paddocks over the last two days. This has resulted in an electric atmosphere from start to finish and a set of returns that have made significant further advances following the start of the recovery last year. Indeed, so many buyers have commented on how difficult it has been to buy “the good ones” and the challenge for Goffs is to attract more quality as we are confident we achieve the best prices in all categories.

The sale is moving in the right direction with 3 lots bettering last years top price together with notable increases in average (+18%), median (+22%) and turnover whilst the crucial clearance rate has also advanced from 67% to 73% which demonstrates the returning health of this sector. In fact it has been most heartening to see the Irish buyer so evident after two quiet years whilst we have, as ever, been pleased to welcome significant numbers from the UK following the combined efforts of Irish Thoroughbred Marketing and the Goffs team who have promoted the sale to the widest audience.

For now we extend our thanks to our vendors who have again provided us with a catalogue of ready made winners and the purchasers who leave us with our best wishes for success on the track.”
