Land Rover & Spring Sale Graduates Take Feature Races at Naas

The Gordon Elliott trained Hardline stepped up in class at the Paddy Power Cheltenham Trials Day at Naas yesterday to make a 1-2 for Goffs Land Rover Sale in the Grade 2 Paddy Power Onside App Novice Hurdle. A winner last time out in the Listed INH Stallion Owners EBF Novice Hurdle at Punchestown, Hardline took the day’s feature by ½ length to fellow Land Rover graduate Impact Factor.  Owned by Gigginstown House Stud, Hardline topped the 2015 Land Rover Sale when sold by Hugh Bleahen’s Clifton Farm to Mouse Morris for €155,000.

Later in the day Goffs UK Spring Sale graduate Doctor Phoenix won the Grade 3 Paddy’s Rewards Chase, making it a double for jockey Davy Russell and trainer Gordon Elliott on the card. The Nick Bradley Racing Club-owned Doctor Phoenix, winner last time out in a Grade A Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse, was sold by Favourites Racing Ltd. from Tyre Hill Racing Stables at last year’s Spring HIT Sale to Aidan O’Ryan and Gordon Elliott for £10,000.
