Airlie Stud’s Le Havre filly topped the opening day of the Goffs February Sale when the daughter of the winner and Stakes placed Sadler’s Wells mare Kithonia (Lot 123 - pictured), from the family of Hernando, sold to Pier House Stud for €75,000.
Tally Ho Stud secured the second highest priced weanling on Day 1 when going to €54,000 for a Camelot colt out of a winning Oasis Dream mare (Lot 247) from Prospect Stables.
A son of Dandy Man out of a winning sister to a pair of Group 2 winners in Pale Mimosa and Nearly Caught (Lot 205) was knocked down to BBA Ireland and Glencoole for €42,000. The colt was consigned by Kingsfield Stud on behalf of Mr Pat Turley. Another well related weanling on Day 1 of the sale was Milltown House Stud’s Kodiac colt out of the dual Group 3 winning mare Redstone Dancer (Lot 230), purchased by Amy Marnane for €36,000.
Topping the National Hunt stock on offer today was the own sister to Noble Endeavor, recent winner of the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown, from The Beeches Stud (Lot 194). The daughter of Flemensfirth was bought by Gerry Hogan Bloodstock for €32,000.
Trade continues tomorrow at 10am with a full day of weanlings, followed on Thursday by a final session dedicated to breeding stock and fillies in and out of training and featuring the first part of a complete dispersal of Ballymacoll Stud.
