Maureen finished second to DBS graduate Sendmylovetorose in the Group 2 Cherry Hinton at Newmarket and followed that up with success in the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot for trainer Richard Hannon and owner Ahmad Alkhallafi.
The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor was bought by Hannon’s regular agents Peter and Ross Doyle at the Goffs Orby Sale for €20,000, where she was consigned by Osberstown Stud, and led home a GoffsDBS 1-2-3 with DBS graduates Sandreamer and Hoyam finishing second and third respectively.
The winner will now be aimed at the Group 2 Lowther Stakes next month and she may also be aimed at the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes later this year.
