More live Classic contenders for GoffsDBS

Guineas trials day at Newbury Racecourse provided two more live Classic contenders for GoffsDBS with the success of Olympic Glory and Maureen in the Group 3 Greenham Stakes and Group 3 Fred Darling Stakes respectively.

The Richard Hannon trained Maureen was the first to pass the post and led home a GoffsDBS 1-2 with DBS Premier Sales graduate Agent Alison in second.  The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor was sold by Osberstown Stud for 20,000EUR at the Goffs Orby Sale 2011 and finished second in the Group 2 Cherry Hinton Stakes before winning the Group 3Princess Margaret Stakes last year. She will join fellow Goffs graduates Just The Judge, Sky Lantern and Rosdhu Queen in the Newmarket Classic in two weeks’ time.

Hannon was another in double form when his Olympic Glory won the Greenham Stakes in impressive fashion. The son of Choisir finished his season with victory in the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagadere last year and he will now be aimed at the Group 1 French 2000 Guineas. He was sold by Parkway farm to Peter and Ross Doyle for £65,000 at the DBS Premier Sales 2011.
