More Top Class Success for Land Rover Sale

Grade 1 winning Land Rover graduate ALTIOR continued a fine run of success over fences today with a confident performance in the Grade 2 Wayward Lad Novices’ Chase at Kempton. Unbeaten in three starts over fences Altior scored readily by 18 lengths for trainer Nicky Henderson and owner Mrs Patricia Pugh.

Altior is a Grade 1 winner over both hurdles and fences having won the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in 2016 and the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase at Sandown this season. He looks set to return to Cheltenham with strong claims in the Grade 1 Arkle Trophy.

A gelding by High Chaparral, Altior was sold by Kilmoney Cottage Stud in the 2013 Land Rover Sale and purchased by David Minton of Highflyer Bloodstock for €60,000.

It was an excellent afternoon for Goffs National Hunt Sales with graduates winning at all 5 meetings in the UK and Ireland including a superb performance from Noble Endeavor to win the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown.

Congratulations to all connections.
