New Vendor Prize For Goffs Land Rover Sale

Goffs and Land Rover Ireland are delighted to announce that the new vendor prize for this year’s Land Rover Sale will be the stunning new Discovery Sport, the latest addition to the Land Rover range of class-defining, authentic 4x4 vehicles.

The vendor of the horse that wins the €100,000 Goffs Land Rover Bumper at the 2016 Punchestown Festival will become the outright owner of the Discovery Sport, the first member of the new Discovery family.

Discovery Sport features 5+2 seating in a footprint no larger than existing 5-seat premium SUVs.  With Land Rover’s DNA at its heart, new Discovery Sport delivers versatility and capability in equal measure, tackling the most challenging terrain in comfort.

Unveiling the Discovery Sport at the Goffs Thyestes Chase at Gowran Park on Thursday, Eddie Kavanagh General Manager of Land Rover Ireland said:

”We are delighted to continue our very successful partnership with Goffs and to formally introduce the new Discovery Sport here today.  As you would expect from a Land Rover, it offers supreme versatility with a very generous and adaptable loadspace.

We look forward to presenting this ground-breaking new model to the winning vendor of the Goffs Land Rover Bumper in 2016.”

Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby added:

“The Land Rover name is synonymous with National Hunt at Goffs and the exclusive vehicle prize has proven to be a great incentive for vendors since the first Land Rover Sale in 1996.

Goffs Land Rover Sale has made major advances in quality, turnover and market share in recent years.  Sellers are reaping the rewards in the sales ring, and the unique incentive of the Discovery Sport is another wonderful reason for store horse vendors to send their best to Goffs”.

Record trade at last year’s Land Rover Sale returned a top price of €200,000, a 45% rise in average price, a 94% Day 1 clearance rate, and a 50% increase in turnover.  Of the four National Hunt stores to make €200,000 or more anywhere in the past two years, two of these were at the Land Rover Sale.  The €215,000 record price at the 2013 Land Rover was for the unbeaten Stone Hard, winner of the bumper at Gowran Park yesterday.

Nominations for Goffs Land Rover Sale can be made in the entries section of the Goffs website , or by calling the office on 045 886600.

All horses offered for sale will be eligible for the Land Rover Bumper 2016.
