A lot not to be missed in the November Foal Sale is catalogued late on Day 3. Consigned by Mark Gittins' Castlefarm Stud, Lot 740 (pictured) is a filly by leading sire INVINCIBLE SPIRIT and Group 1 producing mare, GHURRA. The pedigree has all the makings of a foundation mare with plenty of black type on the page. Bred by Shadwell Stud, Ghurra was a winner at 2 in Europe and was Grade 3 placed in the Wilshire Handicap at Hollywood Park, USA.
A full brother to this lot is the Champion 2yo colt SHALAA (pictured), who made 170,000gns as a yearling selling to Charlie Gordon-Watson. Shalaa was undefeated as a 2yo, winning 6 times including the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes and Group 1 Darley Prix Morny. Following in his sire’s footsteps Shalaa stood his first season at stud at Haras de Bouquetot for €27,500.
