Orby & Sportsman's 1-2 in Molecomb Stakes At Goodwood

Goffs and Richard Hannon recorded a 1-2 in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood as Orby graduate Brown Sugar got the better of Anticipated to give De La Warr Racing a memorable first Group victory.

 

Brown Sugar, a son of Tamayuz, was purchased by Ed Sackville of SackvilleDonald at last year’s Orby Sale from Ballylinch Stud for €47,500.  SackvilleDonald have enjoyed tremendous success at the Orby having also purchased Classic and multiple Group 1 winner Sky Lantern at Ireland’s premier yearling sale.  

Second placed Anticipated was sold at Goffs Sportsman’s Sale by Hardwood Stud to Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock for €30,000, while the third and fourth positions were taken by DBS Premier Yearling Ambiance and Goffs Breezer Sleeper King respectively.

Goffs Orby Sale (2 -3 October) will feature a select group of some of the best bred Irish yearlings and will be followed on 4 October by a strong selection of commercial yearlings at Goffs Sportsman’s Sale.   Catalogues will be available online at  from Monday 12th August.
