Oscar Whisky Brother Tops December NH Sale Day 1

The half-brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Oscar Whisky () topped a vibrant first day at Goffs December National Hunt Foal Sale and at €72,000 almost doubled the highest foal price from last year’s sale.

John O’Byrne outbid Peter Molony to secure the Mahler brother to the star hurdler and chaser who was sadly fatally injured in the Tingle Creek last weekend.  The colt foal was consigned by Grange Hill Stud.

Flemensfirth accounted for the next two highest prices of day one, with a colt from Yellowford Farm () going to Kieran Shields for €36,000 ,while John O’Byrne struck again when going to €30,000 for Kenilworth House Stud’s granddaughter of Irish Grand National winner Ebony Jane ().  The filly’s half-brother is last year’s €215,000 Land Rover Sale topper and subsequent point to point winner Stone Hard.
