Record Returns On Day 1 Of November Foal Sale

Record trade on the opening day of Goffs November Foal Sale resulted in turnover and an average that smashed any previous figures set for Day 1.

Aggregate was up an incredible 73% over the corresponding day last year, while average and median both grew by 31% to €11,971 and €8,500 respectively.

Last year’s top price was also surpassed five times, with a day of intense demand topped by Yeomanstown Stud’s €55,000 purchase of a Casamento colt from Foxford Stud ( - pictured).  A colt from the first crop of Elzaam out of an own sister to Group winner Rebel Soldier meanwhile fetched €51,000 () selling to Oghill House Stud.

The top priced filly on Day 1 was a daughter of Dark Angel, the first foal out of a winning Oasis Dream dam, who was sold by Cloney Stud to Paul McCartan’s Ballyphilip Stud for €47,000 (), while other highlights included a pair of Fast Company colts from Rathasker Stud – who was knocked down to Ronan O’Connor for €48,000, and who fell to Silverdale Stud at €45,000.
