Shadwell account for top lot on second day of Goffs Orby Sale

Another strong day’s trade at Goffs Orby Sale saw Shadwell’s Angus Gold account for the two top priced lots on the second day of selling

Another strong day’s trade at Goffs Orby Sale saw Shadwell’s Angus Gold account for the two top priced lots on the second day of selling when going to €350,000 for a smashing New Approach half sister to recent Group 3 Desmond Stakes winning filly Future Generation (Lot 234).  She is from the family of Cassandra Go and Halfway To Heaven and was offered by The Castlebridge Consignment.

Just three lots later Gold secured Airlie Stud’s daughter of Arch, an own sister to the US Grade 1 winner Prince Arch and half sister to Group 1 National Stakes winner Kingsfort, for €340,000.

Sir Robert Ogden, purchaser of yesterday’s €300,000 top price, paid the same amount for an outstanding Galileo filly from Staffordstown (Lot 404).  She is out of the winning Green Desert mare Altitude who is a half sister to dual Irish Champion Stakes winner Alborada and German champion mare Albanova.

Among the other six figure highlights today was Oaklawn Stud’s Montjeu colt (Lot 318) who fetched €200,000 selling to Demi O’Byrne at €200,000, who earlier went to €190,000 for a daughter of Duke Of Marmalade from the family of Goldikova consigned by Mountain View Stud.  Another stand out yearling from the first crop of the in-demand Duke Of Marmalade was Camas Park’s colt (Lot 454) out of the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes placed Saddler’s Wells mare Bowstring who sold to BBA Ireland for €200,000.

Goffs Orby Sale continues tomorrow Thursday 29th at 10.00am.
