Showcasing Filly the star on Day 2 of November Foal Sale

A filly by Showcasing out of a sister to multiple Stakes winner Sobriety was the star of the second day of the Goffs November Foal Sale. Kilmoney Cottage Stud purchased the attractive filly by the Whitsbury Manor stallion Showcasing for €62,000 ( pictured) from Alexandra Whitehead’s Altenbach Bloodstock.

Trade was lively from the off this morning with the first lot in the ring, a colt by Lethal Force, selling to Ballintober Stud for €60,000. This colt is from a family full of Australian Group winners including Newquay and Civil List and was consigned by Rathasker Stud.

First crop sires continued to catch the eye with a son of Irish National Stud resident Worthadd, from the family of Joshua Tree, purchased from Holyhill Stud by Pier House Stud for €56,000 () whilst a filly by double Group 1 winner, Epaulette out of a sister to multiple Stakes winner Croisultan consigned by Milltown Park Stud, fell to the €54,000 bid of Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock ().

A lively day of bidding recorded increases on the comparable session last year with advances in turnover (+19%), average (+22%) and median (+18%) flowing from an impressive clearance rate of 73%.
