Trade was headed by a son of Street Cry consigned by Norman Williamson's Oak Tree Farm. The colt (Lot 37), who is out of Gr 1 placed Inspired Kiss, fetched £55,000 when bought by Swedish trainer Lennart Reuterskiold on behalf Oman-based owner Dr Omar Zawawi.

Bobby O'Ryan purchased the next highest priced lot, going to £50,000 for a daughter ofExceed And Excel filly consigned by Mocklershill Stables (Lot 25). The filly will go into training with Dermot Weld. O'Ryan later signed for a Holy Roman Emperor filly out of Stakes winner Queen Of Palms for £30,000. She was consigned by Harefield Lodge Stables (Lot 65).

Gay Kelleway
was the first buyer off the mark at Kempton, going to £25,000 for Lot 1,Bansha House Stables' daughter of Oasis Dream who put in one of the day's most impressive breezing performance. Marco Bozzi meanwhile signed for the last horse to be offered, Lot 94, a Librettist filly from the Bloodstock Connection who made £28,000.

Commenting at the conclusion of the day's trade, Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

"Any sale that shows an improvement is always a pleasure but even more so in the current climate. We styled this sale the ready-to-run sale on the basis that winners flow from it very quickly and it was generally accepted that today's breeze up performances will lead to some very quick returns on the racetrack.

An increase of 30% in turnover is of course a reflection of a slightly bigger catalogue but there was a great buzz from start to finish which allowed us to improve the clearance rate to a highly respectable 67%. That said, we have some way to go to return this sale to 2007 heights and will be working hard with the Kempton Park executive and our vendors to produce an even better sale next year".
