Goffs Land Rover graduate and Cheltenham Festival winner WILLOUGHBY COURT (pictured left) remains unbeaten over fences as he fended off previous Grade 1 winners Yanworth and Adrien Du Pont with an impressive win in the Grade 2 Ladbrokes Novices’ Chase at Newbury on Friday. The Ben Pauling trained gelding was a Grade 1 and 2 hurdle winner last season, winning the Grade 1 Neptune Investments Management Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Willoughby Court was sold as a store at the Land Rover Sale by Pine Tree Stud to Highflyer Bloodstock for €48,000.

Further success followed on Saturday as ELEGANT ESCAPE (pictured middle) won the Grade 2 John Francome Novices’ Chase, also at Newbury. This is the first Graded win for the multiple Goffs graduate, having placed in chase events earlier this season. Elegant Escape was first sold at the upcoming December NH Sale from Rathbarry Stud to John Quinlan for €5,000, who went on to sell him at the Land Rover Sale for €32,000. His most recent sale appearance was at Goffs Punchestown Sale where he was purchased by John Romans and Colin Tizzard for €150,000.

December NH graduate DAVIDS CHARM (pictured right) meanwhile enjoyed great success on Sunday at Fairyhouse when landing the Grade 1 Bar One Racing Handicap Hurdle for trainer John Joe Walsh. Davids Charm was offered as a foal by Grange Stud and purchased by owner Mr T.A. O’Brien for €9,000.
