Havana Grey Leads The Way On Day 1 Of Goffs February

Today’s opening session of the two-day Goffs February Sale, which featured two-year-olds, horses-in-training, stores and weanlings, saw a son of Havana Grey (Lot 189) take top billing when purchased by Yeomanstown Stud for €85,000.  Born on St Patrick’s Day 2023, the Kellsgrange Stud consigned colt is a sibling to eight winners and is closely related to a host of black type winners in France.

Heading the National Hunt weanlings on Day 1 meanwhile was a son of No Risk At All out of a winning half-sister to multiple Graded winning chaser Vieux Lion Rouge (Lot 148) from Railstown Stud who went the way of Tally Ho and Hamish Macauley for €75,000.

Aisling Noone and Simon Kavanagh enjoyed a superb start to their Drumloose Stables consigning operation when selling a son of Blue Bresil for €95,000 at last year’s Goffs Arkle Sale, and they were among the leading vendors once again at Goffs today when selling a Havana Grey weanling colt (Lot 91) to Amy and Con Marnane for €46,000 and a Galiway colt (Lot 201) to Yeomanstown Stud for €68,000.

Results for Day 1 are available here.

Selling at Kildare Paddocks continues tomorrow at 10am with the final day of the February Sale featuring weanlings and breeding stock, including several notable supplementary entries.  View catalogue here.
