A son of Dawn Approach topped the opening day of Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale when Boherguy Stud’s own brother to juvenile winner and Group 3 Marble Hill Stakes placed Strapped (Lot 458 - pictured) sold to Alex Elliott for €80,000.
A filly by Sea The Stars was also among the most sought after yearlings on Day 1 as Jim McCartan’s MC Bloodstock secured Lot 408, a daughter of Group 3 winning dam Shahah and a sister to a Stakes placed filly, from The Castlebridge Consignment for €60,000.
Boherguy Stud were to the fore again with the next two highest priced lots, with a Dawn Approach half-brother to Stakes winner Sometimesadiamond and own-brother to a dual winner this season in Level Pitch (Lot 441) selling to BBA Ireland for €50,000, while the same vendor and buyer combination saw Lot 257, a son of Due Diligence, sell for €46,000. Another to make the €46,000 mark was Glidawn Stud’s Mendelssohn filly (Lot 425) that sold to Goffs Scandinavian agent Filip Zwicky.
