Donjuan Triumphant and Kew Gardens - Group Double for Goffs November Sale on QIPCO British Champions

Goffs November Sale enjoyed a superb Group race double on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday.

The Andrew Balding trained Donjuan Triumphant opened the card in style when winning the Group 1 QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes for King Power Racing and Silvestre de Sousa.  Bred by Patrick Cosgrove of Kilcarn Park and the Dream Ahead Syndicate, he is by Dream Ahead out of the Tagula mare Mathuna who was bought by Kilcarn Park at the November Breeding Stock Sale in 2007.   Donjuan Triumphant was sold at the November Foal Sale in 2013 to Lynn Lodge Stud, and his 2019 half-brother by Invincible Spirit is catalogued for the upcoming November Sale as Lot 728.

The Aidan O’Brien trained Classic winner Kew Gardens prevailed in a thrilling finish over Stradivarius in the Group 2 QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup for owners Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor and ridden by Donnacha O'Brien.

Victorious in the St Leger at Doncaster last season, Kew Gardens was second in the Group 1 Irish St Leger and Group 1 Coronation Cup on his last two latest starts this year.  The son of Galileo was bred by David and Diane Nagle’s Barronstown Stud.  He is out of the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Chelsea Rose who topped the 2012 Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale when bought by BBA Ireland on behalf of Barronstown.

Goffs has catalogued a world class collection of foals and breeding stock for this year’s November Sale which takes place from Monday 18 November – Friday 22 November.  The catalogues are available online
