Goffs is pleased to announce the initial entries for the online sale of stallion breeding rights to be held immediately following the Goffs February Sale. The sale will be conducted on GoffsOnline.com and will be open for bidding from 11am to 1pm on Friday 10 February. Bidders must register in advance. Initial entries feature two promising young sires in Profitable and Cloth Of Stars and additional entries can be made by contacting Goffs. Profitable (by Invincible Spirit): Standing at Kildangan Stud, Profitable (above) is the leading new source of speed. Invincible Spirit’s G1 King’s Stand winner is the only stallion with multiple sprinting Group winners from his 2022 three-year-olds. A G2 winning juvenile in both his first two crops, sustained market support saw prices of up to 150,000gns in 2022. After siring the G2 Queen Mary winner in his first freshman year, he covered 116 mares in 2022. Profitable’s 2023 stud fee is €9,000.
Cloth of Stars (by Sea the Stars): Standing at Haras du Logis, Cloth of Stars, the European Champion Older Horse, won the G1 Prix Ganay and was placed twice in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. In his first crop he has sired extremely commercial stock: strong, racy and impressively athletic. He achieved several six-figure yearlings in 2022 and an average price that was even higher than his first crop – a positive sign of approval from agents and trainers who love his first two-year-olds. His first winners are led by the Haggas-trained Laafi, winner of the same race won by Golden Horn and Adayar at two. Cloth Of Stars’ 2023 stud fee is €7,000.
The sale will offer Agents Commission of 5% of the sale price of any lots successfully sold to the buying agent. The amount in question will be deducted from the vendor sales proceeds and is covered in the Conditions of Sale that have been specially modified for this sale.
