Goffs Champions Sale Update

Goffs Champions Sale, which takes place online in 2020, will now run from Wednesday 16 September to Friday 18 September.  The delay is due to recent ground conditions at Irish race meetings which has impacted on the number of suitable horses available for sale.

Nick Nugent of Goffs said:  “An advantage of an online sale is its flexibility to move and adapt in order to maximise opportunities for everybody.  Recent ground conditions have not been helpful but, with plenty of high-class racing in the next week, and hopefully better going, the hope is that more suitable candidates will emerge”.

The Goffs Champions Sale traditionally takes place before racing at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend, and has seen prices of €500,000, €470,000, €450,000, €300,000 etc in recent years with horses selling to buyers from the US, Australia, Middle East, Ireland and the UK.  For purchasers in the online format, pedigrees, walking videos, conformation photos, race footage and veterinary information will be available in the days prior to the sale.

Applications for places in the Champions Sale should be made to Nick Nugent or Mary Kilduff at Goffs or to Goffs agent Kevin O’Ryan by Monday 14 September.  Click here for contact details.
