Grade 1 Tally Rises To 10 For Goffs Land Rover Sale

In Tennessee on Saturday the Jack Fisher-trained SCORPIANCER landed the Grade 1 Calvin Houghland Iroquois Hurdle Stakes for the second time, and in doing so became the tenth individual Grade 1 winner from the Land Rover Sale this season.

Bred by Mary O’Connor, Scorpiancer was consigned at Goffs Land Rover Sale 2012 by Parkdota Stud and sold to Eugene O’Sullivan for €26,000.  The son of Scorpion is a familiar name at Grade 1 level having previously won the Iroquois Hurdle in 2017, as well as the G1 Lonesome Glory Hurdle, and has been placed three times in Grade 1 company.

The Goffs Land Rover Sale has produced more Grade 1 winners in the 2018/2019 season than any other store sale by some margin. The tally of ten includes:

  • Altior
  • Paisley Park
  • Topofthegame
  • Reserve Tank
  • Ornua
  • Felix Desjy
  • Quick Grabim
  • Hardline
  • Commander of Fleet
  • Scorpiancer

There is lots more success in store for buyers at this year’s Land Rover Sale which takes place from 11 – 12 June 2019.  The 525-strong catalogue is now available online.
