Group Race Double For Goffs Orby Sale

Goffs Orby Sale enjoyed a Group race double at the weekend led by the Aidan O’Brien trained Broome who justified 2/5 favouritism to make it an easy win in the Group 3 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes on Sunday at Leopardstown.  Offered at the Goffs Orby Sale 2017 by Croom House Stud, Broome was subsequently cut to 6/1 for next month’s Investec Derby at Epsom.

Orby graduate Pretty Baby meanwhile was victorious in the Group 3 Chartwell Fillies Stakes at Lingfield on Saturday for trainer William Haggas and owner Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum.  It was a fifth win for the four year old Pretty Baby, having won a Group 3 at Goodwood on her most recent outing last August.  She was sold at the 2016 Orby Sale by The Castlebridge Consignment to Jeremy Brummitt.

Goffs Sportsman’s Sale also saw Stakes success this weekend with Salouen who won the Listed Buckhounds Stakes at Ascot for Sylvester Kirk who purchased him as a yearling at Goffs for €85,000 from Glenvale Stud.
