Prix Robert Papin success for Goffs Sportsman’s Sale

Atomic Force, winner of yesterday’s Gr.2 Darley Prix Robert Papin at Chantilly, is a graduate of the 2020 Goffs Sportsman’s Yearling Sale (which was held in Doncaster).

He was consigned there by Railstown Stud, where his potential was spotted by agent Stephen Hillen and trainer Kevin Ryan, whose £22,000 purchase must now be rated as one of Europe’s top two-year-olds. The son of Cotai Glory was bred by David Barry in Co. Limerick, who sold the colt at the 2019 Goffs November Foal Sale for €12,000.  

Atomic Force’s success follows that in the previous weekend’s French headliner, the Gr.1 Prix Jean Prat at Deauville, by Laws Of Indices, an €8,000 graduate of the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale. 

Entries for the 2021 Goffs Sportsman’s Yearling Sale close tomorrow, and graduates will be eligible for the €100,000 Goffs Sportsman’s Race next year over 6 furlongs at Naas.

There was also Group 2 success in Ireland for Orby Sale graduate Insinuendo. Victory in the Kilboy Estate Stakes was a second Group victory for the daughter of Gleneagles, who was purchased for €110,000 by her trainer Willie McCreery at the 2018 Orby Sale from her breeder Mountarmstrong Stud.
