Punchestown Sale Grade 1 success for the unbeaten Honeysuckle

Next week’s Goffs Punchestown Sale received a Grade 1 update on Sunday at Fairyhouse when the Henry de Bromhead-trained Honeysuckle trounced her rivals in the Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final, and in doing so also gave Rachael Blackmore a first Irish Grade 1 victory. The talented mare was purchased at last year’s Punchestown Sale from Shanrod Stables by Peter Molony’s Rathmore Stud for €110,000.

The Goffs Punchestown Sale takes place after racing next Thursday in the parade ring at Punchestown and the first entries will be announced tomorrow. The original festival sale, Ireland’s only boutique National Hunt sale is a proven platform for selling high class point-to-pointers and horses with form. Last year's sale boasted a record top price of €320,000 and increases across the board in average, which increased to €125,143, turnover and median.
