Record NH Foal Price Of €100,000 Tops Vibrant Day 2 At Goffs December

Record breaking trade during the second day of Goffs December National Hunt Sale’s saw Ballyreddin Stud’s colt foal named Lucifer D’Ainay (Lot 502) become the first ever six figure foal at this sale.  By No Risk At All, the sire of last weekend’s Grade 1 John Durkan Chase and Grade 1 Ryanair Chase winner Allaho, he was purchased for €100,000 by Glenvale Stud – with Ciaran Conroy earmarking the Land Rover Sale 2024 as the target for the outstanding colt. 

Another son of No Risk At All in great demand was Lot 471, Clonbonny Stud’s colt out of Theatre Mole who is a half-sister Grade 2 chase winner and Grade 1 placed Mr Mole, that sold for €80,000 to Derek O’Connor bidding on behalf of Ellmarie and Paul Holden’s Coolmeen Farms.

Other highlights of today’s foal trade included Woodhouse Stud’s Crystal Ocean colt (Lot 493) out of the Presenting dam Truly Amazing who is a daughter of four time Grade 1 winning mare Asian Maze.  He sold to Adrian Costello of Park Farm for €65,000.  Ashmore Farm meanwhile consigned a much sought-after son of Walk In The Park (Lot 436) that was knocked down to Kieran Shields for €56,000.
