Update: Statement on burst pipe at Goffs

Update:  Statement on burst pipe at Goffs

As everyone present at Goffs today saw we were faced with an additional and totally unexpected challenge in the sales ring late this afternoon when a pipe to a water tank burst in the ceiling above the administration offices on the top floor of the building. The result was a cascade of water into the office that then leaked into the sales arena for a time.

Firstly we would like to apologise to anyone who was inconvenienced in any way but also thank all our visitors for their pragmatic and good natured reaction to the problem especially as it was so unexpected. I would also pay tribute to Ger Hennessy and his Goffs Team for their quick and effective response to the leak which allowed us to continue with the sale after a short break whilst ensuring the safety of everyone at Kildare Paddocks.

The team will work through the night to rectify the problem and dry out any affected areas so that we can recommence tomorrow morning in the normal manner.

Again our sincere thanks to everyone for allowing us to sort the immediate problem and then continue with the sale without too much inconvenience.
