Walk In The Park Colt Tops Strong Opening Day At Goffs December NH Sale

The opening day of Goffs December National Hunt Sale returned solid trade that saw a 9% rise in average and a slight increase in clearance rate over 2019, as well a top price that surpassed that of last year’s sale.

Yellowford Farm’s Walk In The Park colt out of a winning sister to Hurricane Fly and to the dam of Tornado Flyer (Lot 70) was the star turn on the opening day when selling to Pine Tree for €82,000.  Another foal that proved extremely popular was a son of Soldier Of Fortune from Ashwood Stud.  The colt, Lot 196, is a half-brother to Impact Factor out of the Grade 3 placed dam Hello Kitty and sold to Park Farm for €72,000.

Other standouts on Day 1 included a colt by Order Of St George out of a sister to Splash Of Ginge (Lot 242) from the family of Gold Cup winner Sea More Business.  Consigned by Rathmore Stud on behalf of Mags Melody, he was purchased by Kevin Ross Bloodstock and Ben Case for €65,000.  Richard Frisby later went to €58,000 to secure Galbertstown Stables’ El Cairos (Lot 254), a colt foal by No Risk At All out of a sister to Grade 1 winning chaser Hinterland.
