VIEW CATALOGUE

Siblings to Group 1 winners Ghaiyyath, Sea Of Class and Lucky Vega headline the world class collection of Ireland’s best foals catalogued for the 2020 Goffs November Foal Sale.  Now available to view online, the catalogue features 759 foals that will be offered over three days at Kildare Paddocks on the rescheduled dates Friday 18 - Sunday 20 December 2020 using the popular and successful “rising tide” format.

Leading sires represented include Kingman, Frankel, Sea The Stars, Kodiac, Dark Angel, Invincible Spirit, Lope De Vega, Zoffany and Night Of Thunder, while foals by the leading first crop sires of 2020 include Mehmas and New Bay.  The catalogue also features the first foals by exciting sires such as Saxon Warrior, Roaring Lion, Zoustar, US Navy Flag, Harry Angel, Havana Grey and Expert Eye.

A record breaker when selling for €1.1 million to Godolphin as a foal at Goffs November Sale in 2015, Ghaiyyath fulfilled that potential when becoming the highest rated horse in the world this year as he took his Group 1 tally to four including victories in the Group 1 Juddmonte International, Group 1 Coronation Cup and Group 1 Eclipse Stakes this season.  Ghaiyyath’s half-brother by Kingman out of Irish 1000 Guineas winner Nightime is one of the stars of the 2020 catalogue, and is also a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Zhukova as well as last year’s November Foal Sale-topping colt who, at €1.2 million, was the highest priced foal in the world in 2019.

Black type siblings feature prominently right throughout the catalogue, and other standouts include the own-brother to the Group 1 Irish Oaks and Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks winner and Champion European three year old Sea Of Class, as well as a Footstepsinthesand brother to one of this season’s star juveniles in Lucky Vega, winner of the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes and a close second in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes.  An own-sister to both Nay Lady Nay, a recent Grade 2 winner in the US for Chad Brown, and last year’s Coventry Stakes winner Arizona is also catalogued.

Other highlights include a Frankel sister to the dual Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed Terebellum out of Group 3 winner Marvada as well as a Frankel colt out of Noyelles, dam of Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Lily’s Angel.   Also offered is a colt by Make Believe out of multiple Group 2 winning mare Unchartered Haven and is a brother to both Group 1 performer High Heeled and to the dam of Irish 1000 Guineas and Grade 1 EP Taylor Stakes winner Just The Judge.

A leading source of pinhooking success, Goffs November Foal Sale was the most profitable European foal sale at the 2019 yearling sales, while for end-users it continued to deliver on the racecourse throughout 2020.  Ghaiyyath led a host of Group successes for November graduates, along with the likes of Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner Lucky Vega, Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Alcohol Free, US Grade 1 winner River Boyne and Saudi Arabian Group 1 winner Mjjack

Other Group winning graduates in 2020 included Dark Vision, a Group 2 winner in Germany, Lemista who won the Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes at The Curragh for Ger Lyons and Peter Brant, Ubettabelieveit who landed the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes last month, Group 2 Lowther Stakes winner and Cheveley Park Stakes second Miss Amulet, Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes winner Aloha Star and Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes winner Dandalla.

Commenting on the launch of the November Foal Sale catalogue, Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

“We are delighted with the consistent level of quality throughout this year’s November Foal Sale catalogue which is simply unmissable for buyers seeking world class foals to resell or race.  Goffs November is one of our true success stories and has enjoyed a level of trade that has been unrivalled in recent years. We pride ourselves on providing excellence for all buyers whatever their budget.  In this year like no other, we have taken great heart from the fact that Irish foal vendors have overwhelmingly maintained their support of the November Foal Sale with drafts of real depth, diversity and quality.

We look forward to welcoming vendors and purchasers back to Kildare Paddocks.  The November Foal Sale is dominated by Irish buyers while we are also working to ensure the attendance of valued foal purchasers from the UK and further afield along with key international end-users. In addition Goffs Online will allow participation from all corners of the globe as international buyers link in with agents on the ground to chase the best foals on offer”.
