Kevin Ross

Ireland

Kevin is a key member of the Goffs Inspection Team and has played a big  part in the Land Rover and December NH sales growth in recent years.

Kevin comes from a famous racing family, being a grandson of Willie Rooney, who trained Bentom Boy to win the Irish Grand National as well as standing stallions including Cantab, the sire of two Gold Cup winners, The Thinker and Little Owl and an Aintree Grand National winner, Little Polveir. Kevin rode as an amateur jockey, mainly specialising in point to point races. He worked for George Stewart who was a successful producer of young horses, riding the likes of Ross Moff to win his bumper and maiden hurdle, before progressing to a Grade 2 chasing victory, and he also rode Bindaree to win his point to point before going on to Aintree Grand National glory. In addition, Kevin spent some time with Kevin Prendergast on the Curragh. In 2000 Kevin broke his neck in a fall and so his riding career ended prompting him to use his knowledge to became a bloodstock agent with Bloodstock Ireland, until starting Kevin Ross Bloodstock in 2006 which he operates with his wife, Anna Moore.

A regular buyer at a multitude of Goffs sales Kevin is superbly placed to advise vendors on the most suitable sale for their horses whilst, of course, he knows a huge number of potential clients for a variety of Goffs entries.
